Jakub Kapała – Concert Organist
Master student at the Academy of Music in Kraków under the tutelage of professor Dariusz Bąkowski-Kois. He studied also at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg in the class of professor Wolfgang Zerer as the participant of the Erasmus+ program.
Winner and laureate of numerous organ competitions, including:
• First place and the Special Award in the Ninth International Hermann Schroeder Competition, Trier (Germany), 2021
• Second place in the 4th Russian-Polish Organ Competition “Vox Polonica
Petropolitana”, St. Petersburg (Russia), 2019
• Second place in the "Romuald Sroczyński in Memoriam" Academic Organ Competition in Poznań, 2018
• First place in the sixth "Bronisław Rutkowski’s Organ Competition" in Krakow, 2017
• First place, as well as a Special Award for exceptional artistic rendition in the "XIII Young Organists Festival" in Białystok, 2016
• First place in Organ Competition organized by the Artistic Educational Center in Warsaw, 2016
He was awarded a scholarship from The Minister of Culture and The National Heritage in 2016 and 2017 in Tarnów, the mayor of Tarnów in 2017, as well as from the DAAD Foundation in 2021.
From 2007 to 2017, he participated as chorister and organ accompanist in Tarnow’s cathedral boys’ choir, "Pueri Cantores Tarnovienses". Together, they toured across Europe, with performances in Sweden, Lithuania, Italy, Slovenia, and Macedonia.
He has participated in numerous masterclasses, taught by Olivier Penin, Tobias Horn, Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen, Francisco Scarcella, Thomas Lennartz, Ignace Michiels, Jos van der Kooy, Ines Madre, Berhnard Haas, Jan Lehtola, among others.
Graduated with honors from Secondary School of Music✶ in Tarnow, 2017. In 2020 graduated with distinction the bachelor studies at the Academy of Music in Kraków
